New Hall School, Chelmsford and St Mary's School, Colchester

Hi, my DS recently undertook the CEM and CSSE exams. We are now seriously considering the option of doing the exams for the above mentioned independent schools.
Does anyone know what format to expect for the exams i.e. level of difficulty for the maths / english papers; and what type of VR questions should we be focussing on - especially considering a limited amount is now required for the grammars.
Any thoughts welcome with gratitude in advance.

New Hall:
Standard type VR (all 21 types)
Multiple choice English (comprehension, spelling, grammar, punctuation) plus essay writing
Standard answer Maths (level 5ish)
My son is taking the exam in 3 weeks. My daughter took it 3 years ago.

My son also just took the New Hall entry exam (this week). Do you know when we find out if they have passed the tests or/and offered a place?

Thank you - I was aware it will be before Xmas, just wondered if there was a specific date?

We got email notification of results today.
