We received our letter regarding an interview too, overjoyed as you can imagine.

Congrats to all the other DS's who received letters this morning and keeping everything crossed for those still waiting.

Chuffed to bits, just got interview letter from Habs.

Congratulations to all who've been successful and commiserations to those who haven't. Hopefully wherever the kids end up they will do well and be happy.

Is anyone able to advise on dress code for the boys on interview day?

School uniform?
Smart trousers and shirt?
Suit?
Formal blazer?

What would he feel most comfortable and prepared in?

Personally I would go for the suit or smart trousers and shirt.

Well done to all these ds.

It is fantastic to see so many of your ds have got an interview. I don't think I have every seen so many in one year. DG

All boys from DS school got interview - even less 'academic' ones (and didn't score high for grammars)

Interesting point AML.

Perhaps now HABS Boys is Sunday Times Independent School of the Year, and further up the league tables, they've proved what they wanted to prove and are now keen to broaden their intake again with more all rounders.

My issue is that I think there is a lot of scaremongering among tutors about how difficult it is. Am happy for all the DS and their parents.

According to The Sunday Times Independent School league tables, HABS Boys is now only 2nd to St Paul's Boys.

They're unlikely to overtake St Paul's Boys due to geographic location so at best, HABS Boys will only ever retain 2nd place.

My view is they've proved their position in the league tables and now want to expand their intake with boys who are clearly academic but also strong in other areas.

MTS are stronger than HABs in rugby and cricket and I suspect this is something they're looking to address.
