It seems the offer emails started arriving around 530pm and the no emails later on in the evening.

Thanks, Middlesexmum. As I tried to explain in another post, we worried far less this time round, having the understanding that if our dd should not have secured her place, she would still, indeed, be alive and be able to work (perhaps extra extra hard?) and do well.
