Congratulations.
St Albans is a wonderful school and all the boys I know there are very happy.
All boys I know of have got through the second round in past years.
It seems to just be a behaviour check to see how they are in class.
It seems to have been a lot harder to get to the second round this year at St Albans.
Perhaps they had a lot more applicants than normal.
Anyone know any figures? DG

No idea about the statistics. We are also wondering as how many of them got called for the callback session as the website says they usually offer about 70 places and few on the reserve list.
My son's friend got called for the callback session. It was mentioned in the letter that Head of English will go through elements of his English paper. His parents are trying to understand what does that mean. Any pointers ?

St Albans discussed their applications figure today at the second round today.
There were 300 applicants in total and 169 were called back, so unusually more than 50%.
Approx 72 places available.

Thanks for the details Daogroupie. 169 callbacks for 70 places sounds bit scary (or I should say interesting ?). Almost 1:2. Tomorrow is our callback session and another 3 weeks of wait.

Don't forget a lot of students will also get offers from MTS and HABS so St Albans may not be their first choice. DG

Thats true. Your stats are spot on. Headmaster did mention the same in today's session.
