Highgate school vs city of London boys

Highgate school vs city of London boys. Help to decide which is better for a sports mad boy. What do you guys think? Any experience is welcome please

Sport is probably taken more seriously at Highgate, plus the grounds are practically on-site. There are other factors though... I wouldn't class either as particularly sporty schools - both strong academically, Highgate more "public school", City more inclusive.

My son loves football, swimming and basketball he’s also into he’s maths and science. I love the inclusiveness of city. Do both schools consider siblings as I have another child for next year intake.

My son is at CLSB. On site they have a swimming pool and a sports hall, a few squash courts. No outdoors facilities except a 3G football pitch on the roof of a building and a court yard, decent size, where they can kick a ball. Water polo and basket ball are good levels. They have one afternoon of games on their sports ground in south east London where they do football (no rugby), the A and B teams have lots of fixtures against other schools, I think the level is good, and in summer they have cricket or tennis. No weekend fixtures, except if you are in the cricket team during summer term (to be confirmed). I am pretty sure Highgate have proper outdoors facilities on site but I have no direct experience. What are the sports your son like and are they offered at both schools? Can you check somehow the level they play at?
City is a very happy school.

City certainly don't have a sibling policy and don't think Highgate do either (others can confirm).

Have you visited both schools? CLSB couldn’t be more urban whereas Highgate has extensive sports facilities and grounds. Both are very academic but I don’t think the city schools are suitable for those looking for sports too

Highgate sports facilities are excellent with more sports coaches than you can count!

Football v strong & v popular, a brand new pool with all bells & whistles will open at the end of this year.

Matches are often at weekends, the school are involved in National Championships, there are sports tours & individual children who excel in their sport & are playing at England level are encouraged & supported by the school.

Definitely better facilities than City but I know a very sporty and clever boy who loves City.

All pupils do sport for 2 double lessons per week - one is regarded as sport, one as exercise - there is plenty of choice.

Don't let anyone tell you Highgate isn't academic, it most certainly is! The Maths top set (they are set for Maths from day 1) is extremely competitive. V high end of year exam averages in Yr7, excellent teaching all round so far & GCSE & A Level results amazing these past few years.
