Parents of boys who got into Westminster 13+ - scholarship

Hi, I am interested in a scholarship course preparation - do you know of any?

We try to keep the forum as safe as possible - we don't allow tutors to be openly recommended, because it attracts posts with fake recommendations ('dodgy' advertising solely designed to solicit business on the internet).
It is also not unknown for unscrupulous competitors to 'plant' posts seeking to denigrate the opposition!

Genuine recommendations from forum members by PM only (private message) are permitted - but be aware of the possibility that someone who appears to be a 'helpful parent' offering advice may not be all they seem! There could be an ulterior motive.

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with great caution.
However, we have many long standing members (check carefully the date of joining and number of posts) who make a very valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a private recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering.

Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'.

@azbv - I'm not 100% sure but my understanding is that the scholarship only attracts a nominal award and is for the seriously seriously gifted - ie general not those needing a prep course IYSWIM? Are you instead interested in a bursary? If you are attempting 13+ entry from state school, you need to speak to the registrar. I believe that the 13+ still includes ancient greek..... 11+ entry is usually the state route, with 2 years at the under school.

You really need to be in a 13 plus prep if you want to do 13 plus.

13 plus preps like Lochinver and Keble will have spaces in Y7 for September as some of their students will have done the 11 plus and will be leaving in June. DG

A Westminster "Queen's Scholarship" is one of the few that still has substantial monetary value.

Queen's Scholars are required to board, and the 40%-ish scholarship brings the fee down to below the Day Fee.

The easiest way to prepare is to go to a 13+ prep for years 7 and 8.
