John Lyons Harrow

My DS is offered a place at Joyn Lyons in Harrow. But, I failed to apply for a grant and I can not afford their full fee. Any chance? I prefer this school because it is only about 10 min walk for us. He has got a place at QE as well. But JL will be very little presure. He can leave house at 8.30 and will back by 3.45.
I have to reply them today. So, please?

Speak to them about a sports scholarship (25%) - providing your child has something to offer in that area.
Indpendent Schools are in competition - so why not.
Try the Independent Schools forum.
Good Luck - we have a similar decision to make today too.

I'd say if you don't have the money for JL you have Hobson's choice - your son must go to QE Barnet. Anyway scores of boys travel from Harrow I've seen the coaches dropping them off around 4.20 in Lowlands Road. Travelling by coach isn't too bad - there's a thread on the independent forum about this. For lots of kids it is a time to chill out.
