My son got offers from the above schools for 11+ entry.
son is sporty, playing various sports at school, doing drama at weekend, playing chess.
Westminister is 40 mins away, St Paul's is 1hour 10mins away.
Personally love St Paul more due to facilities and sports. But travel distant is an issue.
Anyone offer some more insights, please? many thanks

It will take your son twice as long to get to St Pauls than to Westminster.

Over two hours of travelling every week day for years will take its toll.

Is there something very specific that you feel St Pauls will offer him that Westminster will not?

I know boys in Y7 at Westminster coming from Finchley and they find the journey very straightforward.

They also got into St Pauls but the journey was not feasible.

They are flourishing at Westminster. DG

Congratulations on your DS’s offers - wow. What a great choice to have. He has done really well!

Personally, a commute of 1 hour 10 mins each way seems very long and the commute would be the deciding factor for me. It’s almost double the commute to Westminster.

Congratulations to your DS. Which school does your son prefer? They are both going to be brilliant, but a child will cope ok with a longer commute for a school they absolutely love, less so if they are ambivalent. I say this speaking as a long-standing NLCS parent with a one hour commute but my daughter loves school so much she takes it completely in her stride and uses the journey productively/socially. She was always adamant that was where she wanted to go, journey or no.
