We've got the offer as well. So happy about DS's achievement but the fees are so high. We love the school. I have to admit that we found St Paul's a bit arrogant, so it's out of the picture for us but Westminster was welcoming and respectful. High fees and lack of facilities like swimming pool make us think if it's worth paying that much money. On the other hand it's a beautiful school. Are you going to accept the offer? Will you be in your prep schools until year 9?

We have accepted the offer as this is the only school DS wanted.
We may stay at the current prep or take a 11+ school for the next two years, if it’s allowed by both schools.

Was there a reason you chose the 13 plus entry over the 11 plus entry? DG

DS’s prep goes to 13 but it’s a non-selective co-ed prep. Small percentage of boys will apply selective 13+ schools but nearly everyone has a 11+ school choice. We originally planned to stay (as we love the school) but just realised our year 7 and 8 might not be great. We found out very few boys will stay and there won’t be a scholar class.

We’re accepting Westminster so will free up a CLSB place. A shame as we also loved City. Staying on at our Prep. It’s a lovely non-selective school and DS very happy there.

We’ve chosen not to move at 11+. We have an older DD and she literally stopped being a young child the day she walked over the threshold of her secondary school. Just like that, she grew up! We’re keen for DS to develop at his own pace in terms of maturity and we think staying on at prep will allow this.

Can you do it though? Doesn’t your offer state that it is conditional on good standing in the current prep?
