Hi Tipsy,
Had a fab evening.Head's talk inspirational and met several really nice parents.
Drinks in the library followed by supper in dining hall which is the spitting image of Hogwarts!
It's quite amazing to see a list of Headmasters going back to 1598!
Now we have to bite the bullet and buy the uniform!
Have made appointment for August with school shop - will have to give DH a sedative, his favourite dinner and unspecified favours prior to appointment!
Oh and blow the cobwebs off his wallet!!!!!

Yes, really lovely Admissions Secretary has organised another day for DS and 4 others on 2nd July from 08.30 until 14.00 ( and they will actually be in class and do some work!)
DS in Cornwall on residential trip - he will be so pleased! They have beem really lucky with weather and have done abseiling, kayaking, archery, canoeing , shorelione studies but this will culminate tomorrow in THE DISCO!!!
Last year DS won "Best Dancer-Boy" in Y5 residential- hope he maintains his high standards!
He definitely doesn't get it from his dad!

Just had a look at Aldenham and it looks great - you must be very excited especially. I'm glad to see the schools been so accommodating. Have you found parents yet who live near by or who you can share the school run with - very useful! Can the boarding work as a babysitting facilty if you only need it occassionally, and the most important question - can they do homework/prep at school?

Hi Tipsy,
Yes we met 3 mums who all live near to us- 2 of them will be on the school coach with DS which picks him up very near our house.
One mum has DS in Y10 already and was singing the praises of the school, saying they are encouraged to do their best up to the limit of their capability but never pressurised.
Another lady 's son is coming up from the prep school and the 3rd boy is at a local C/E state primary just like DS.
Overall a very reassuring evening.February (when he came for interview) seemed a very long time ago and it's good to know that you did make the right choice.
