Hello all,

My son is in Year 4 and we are staying in Stanmore(Harrow council). We recently brought a house here. When we brought the property we didn't have any clue about Grammar schools. So the only option left with us is the QE (Barnet) which is very tough to crack the exam.

I know most of the Grammar schools are oversubscribed and strict catchment area, whether the council will allocate any seats for kids outside the main catchment area (we are roughly 13 miles - as crow flies distance from Amersham).

Any views are much appreciated.

The council provide detailed allocation information which gives previous year allocation distances. https://www.buckscc.gov.uk/services/edu ... ol-places/

These days you would not get a place at any of the Bucks grammar schools from Stanmore. You may hear people taking of getting into Chesham Grammar from Harrow but that hasn't happened in many years.
