Broken Wrist

Hi all,
My son broke his wrist today and his arm is in plaster. he does his SATS this coming week ... anyone any idea of what happens in SATS if he can't write?

The school need to ring the LA and tell them - I think he can have a person to write for him if he feels well enough to do the tests.

That would be good if he can have someone write for him, he should be OK to do the tests.

Hi tco.. guest 55 is right... a boy in my daughter's class has a broken arm and someone is coming in to be a scribe for him next week during Sats.... my d not sure who this person will be.

The school has to get permission for this so do go in early on Monday or try to alert the school as soon as you can.

Actually his writing is not the neatest in the world ... as my English teacher used to say: "Is that your writing boy or has a spider fallen into some ink and crawled across your exerise book?" ...

A little tip - get him to do a small amount of practise with you today, dictating what he wants you to write.
Your child should be given a scribe (amanuensis) - it will almost certainly be someone who he knows like a teaching assistant - and will receive extra time but will need to dictate all punctuation.

Excellent idea Ed's mum - it is amazingly difficult to dictate to someone - including punctuation etc try it with a few past paper questions from:
