Can anyone recommend revision books for SATs in Science, English and Maths?

There is NO NEED to revise for SATS. Honestly - the school will do it.

True - my dd's school seemed to spend most of year 6 doing just that!

I would recommend Collins Revise and Shine and the cgp ks2 books. If your school gives regular homework these are good for helping with it. They cover all the topics well. Our primary school recommend getting the revise and shine books to prepare for SATs. The school is not SATs mad and did boycott them, but the children still did tests but in a less stressful way and marked by the teachers. The topics covered in these books would be good prep for high school anyway. Not all primary schools are well organised with homework etc (from my experience - we moved schools) and if that is the case these books might fill some gaps.

It's the last year when they can get away with very little homework. SATS don't matter. If the school thinks they are important, they will help them revise - if they don't, they won't. And it makes no difference at all to the child. Honestly.

Too right - ours did very little else from about autumn half term onwards two years ago, and I think they look set to at least as much this year. Personally I wouldn't touch SATs revision with a bargepole, I'd recommend concentrating on making life outside school as much fun as possible instead.
