KS2 SATS inc Level 6 maths - what preparation can DD do?

Can you please advise what books or past papers one should look at and when prior to SATS in Y6 in May 2013?

Do results of these determine where DD will be placed in sets for maths etc at secondary school?

Thanks

I'd start by having a look at last years level 6 papers to get an idea of the level.

A child should only be entered for these tests 'if they are already working above level 5' according to the DfE.

Ask the school - a much better diet would be to finish the level 5 topics that aren't taught at Primary first then do lots of 'using and applying'.

I second the 'using and applying' particularly. It's fun but is often an area which many children find difficult. it's "maths" rather than "numeracy".
