SAT date

hi All,

One of the SAT dates clashes with my son's exam for an independent school.
If he misses a day during the SAT week, will he be given another chance to do the exam on a different date?

I am pretty sure not and I would imagine his current school would be none too impressed, either!! Have you contacted the independent? They may not realise about the clash and may be open to offering an alternative time as I suspect there may be several students in the same boat.

If it was my child I would take them for the indie exam as the SATS results are not going to be relevant to them, especially if you take up a place at an indie school.

Good point - this is true! The reality is, if your child is poorly, then they can't sit the SATs anyway and, as hm says, they are not relevant for indie secondary anyway!

You can't do another date but you could perhaps do pm for an am test or vice versa. Is the indy close enough for this to be viable? It is very late in the school year for an exam. What year are you applying for? DG
