Apologies I understand this link had been previously posted by Guest55. I was looking for a discussion on the contents of the tests just taken and which I had not yet seen and to allow parents to discuss the results in due course should they wish.

Most of the boys and girls in my youngest dd's class took the level 6 papers in both English and Mathematics.

In respect of the level 6 English reading my dd found the passages hard to understand and decipher and the questions to be tough. She was familiar with both subjects having read Treasure Island in simpler English before and was aware of the moon landings having read up on the subject and having gone to the space museum in Leicester.

On the other level 6 English paper in respect of spelling punctuation and grammar she stated she enjoyed doing the test.

In relation to the level 6 Maths she struggled with question 8 on paper 1 and on questions 4 and 9 on paper 2. Part of her difficulties being she finds it difficult to conceptualise 3D shapes.

I am fairly relaxed about the SATs and not concerned about what level she achieves as our priority was the 11 plus.My dd's school did do an awful lot of work for the SAT's.

If your DD is anything like mine, she'll have also struggled with the fact that there's more than one answer to the question (as we're not told which cube was removed).

The question about the cube does not need to specify which cube is removed ... part of the test of working above level 5.

I agree, of course. I guess my point is that my DD (who's currently in Year 4) - and presumably others - stumbles when faced with questions which can have more than one answer. She's not yet comfortable with the concept of there being more than one correct answer.

All the answers will be congruent I believe ....

I notice there are no mark schemes with the 2015 papers. Are they added at a later date?

Yes, they are released when the level thresholds are agreed and released.
