Re: Homeschooling
I don't think it has turned into an 'Anti Independent School' thread.
My point was, a school should be for 7 years not until your child has a Grammar school place. Many parents use the 'home-schooling' label as an excuse to save school fees once a school has served its purpose. Valuable learning happens right up until the very end of Year 6.

Re: Homeschooling
Thank you for your replies. I think that I need to have a sit-down with his Headteacher and discuss whether flexi-schooling is a possibility and then take it from there. I do not suscribe to the 'school should be for 7 years' idea, but education, however must be ongoing. I would like to take a look at the school syllabus for year 6 before coming to a decision.

If its a state school they will be following the national curriculum which you can find here:
https://www.gov.uk/national-curriculum/overview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In addition, many schools put further details on their websites.
