Well is relative. If 5 out of every 6 children are getting 120 then it does downgrade how well she has done. I’m not really bothered, more curious.

Why would it downgrade it if she has done her best?

Here is some interim data: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... sults-text" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sphynx,

Did your letter tell you the % of pupils achieving the higher level at your DCs school? Maybe not!

Probably no way of knowing how many are working at the higher level within LA or nationally until the provisional data is released in September (Final figures in December) but the 2017 figure was 9% this includes "Reading, Maths and and their teacher assesses them as ‘working at a greater depth within the expected standard’ in writing." not sure where SPAG comes into it though?

We haven't had our letter yet so don't know what info we will be given.

Sphynx,

What makes you think 5/6 will get 120?
120 is the highest score possible so that is highly unlikely, also this year the % meeting the expected standard (100) is around 63% (can't remember the exact % but it's close to that) so 5/6 getting 120 is impossible!

Neither SPAG or GPS is mentioned on the higher levels!

Is there a difference between Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPAG) and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling? (GPS)

Edited to ask a a question

It is a large part of the English mark.

But not mentioned on the description of the higher level? Only Reading, Maths and Writing is mentioned.

Writing is teacher assessed.

The link I posted says:" The average scaled score in reading has increased to 105, compared to 104 in 2017. The average scaled score remains the same in maths and GPS, at 104 and 106 respectively."
