KS2 sats - Children should achieve a Level 4 in the tests in May of Y6
Level 5 is seen as above expected achievement.

SATs level

Post by Snakeyfly »

Hi NR,

I agree that level 4 is the expected score, but as you're on this site, I assume that you're keen for your child to get into a Grammar School and my experience in terms of my son and his classmates (who attended a preparatory school) is that only those who achieved all level 5's got into grammar schools in the area (Birmingham).

Of course, the entrance exams don't exactly match SAT's - Non Verbal Reasoning, for example isn't measured directly at school. I'd ensure that your child is happy and has a broad experience of all types of life and academic learning...
