CAT scores - helpful/unhelpful?

For comparison, a score of 119 or above in an age standardised CAT test would usually place a child in the top 10% (ie 90+ percentile) of the population as a whole, as per: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/11plus ... rs.php#b28

Yes!....We heard our appeal was successful today. DD is beaming from ear to ear (and so is the rest of the family).
Although I stopped posting over a month ago I have followed everyone else's threads and had valuable help in both formulating the appeal summary and then the presentation.
I think we were fortunate to have a strong academic case, fantastic headteacher support and an accurate set of 1:1 predictions. The most recent high CAT score made up for the earlier (OK?) ones.
Lastly although we took exercise books to indicate the level DD was working at, we only thought at the last minute to check if there was a noticable dip in performance whe she returned after illness. In fact there was, both in the quality and presentation. Indeed we had a moment of humour with the panel suggesting that the lack of house points over that week was another indiatior of below par performance.
We were very worried about the 2nd lower score and how that would be viewed. We are now very relieved and will be celebrating over the weekend.
Thank you Etienne and Sally Anne.
Good luck to those still awaiting their appeals and to those awaiting their letter.
