12 plus

Post by mistake »

Our DD took 12 plus after failed appeal and transfered to a grammar school now in year 10 and still wishes we had left her where she was, she is acheiving very good grades at the grammar she has friends at the grammar and socialises at w/e's with them but still misses her friends that she had been with from playgroup to year 7 , she feels she was happier with them, whilst she still see's them she misses out on the gossip from events that happen in the school day. It is sad for us, in trying to do what we thought was best she lost out in the process . Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Don't feel guilty...she's got the best of both worlds...she won't have 'lost' her good friends at all, she's making new ones and I would think, if she was truly NOT happy, she wouldn't be doing so well at her new school :) We all make hard decisions on the part of our DCs, most of which I suspect are right in the long run, but sometimes a bit hard to live with , on both sides  You've done YOUR best, and so is she doing hers! :!:
