My son got 117, there were extenuating circumstances of a medical nature of which we have evidence. Our appeal is at the end of the month.
When he left year 5 we were told that he would be one of the recommended to pass the 11+. So when he didn't we were suprised but we were more suprised that he had only been given a 3 for academic and 1 for attitude and hadn't been put on the OS at all. His year 5 teacher stands by her recommendation and has written a letter of support. His year 6 teacher has also written a letter of support but i am concerned as to how much weight will put on this '3'. We have 2 alternative 2006 VR scores of 125 and 123 which have also been put forward.
The head is new and new to the system but i don't want to sound unsupportive of her.

If anyone could advise that would be fab.

Hi,

I think with a 3:1 your child should have been ranked. DId all the ranked pupils reach 121?

Have you asked the Head how they arrived at the OoS? If not perhaps you could make an appointment - does the Head's report 'strongly support'?
However it's great that his teachers are supportive after all they know him best!

What was the other score? The nearer to 117 the better - what are the KS2 NC test predictions?

The head won't show us the OS and i don't want to push.
117/117
5,5,4 SATs.
Thanks

I think you will get an anonymous copy of the order of suitability with all the other paperwork for the appeal. You will see how accurate the Head was with her order - also a copy of her report.

Good luck!
