Successful Appeal
Afternoon All,
I have been in the back-ground and a keen follower of this forum for some years now. Our Daughter sat the 11+ a few years back and achieved 117 on each paper. We went to appeal and we were unsuccessful. To cut a rather long and emotional story short our Daughter sat the 12+ and passed. She is now at Grammar School and is placed in top sets in most subjects.
Our Son have just sat the 11+ and got 115 and 118. It was quite a shock as we fully expected him to pass. We did have full support from the school and decided to appeal. There were also some special circumstances. We went to appeal last Friday and only just received the letter yesterday. We were successful.
We are obviously over the moon and our Son is beside himself with excitement.
I just wanted to say that having this forum throughout our journeys have been extremely helpful. It provides support you simply will not find anywhere else at this level and it is full of constructive feedback.
I would like to salute all the wonderful people who give up so much of their time in order to guide people, just like me, through these uncertain times. It is invaluable.
I wish everyone else who are going through this process all the very best.
Kindest Regards
A very Worried Mum (not so worried anymore)

I have had virtually no internet access this week, and the little time I have been able to snatch has been taken up with other things.
However, wild horses couldn't stop me from using a couple of my precious minutes to congratulate you AVWM.
It was a very long journey, through DD's 11+, appeal, 12+, allocations. To have to go through it again was just too cruel for words.
But you did it! YOU DID IT!!! YOU DID IT!!! No one could be happier for you and your DS - but you know that already.
You have quite made my day.
