Does anyone know what happens to places left at grammar schools after allocation to those that passed the 11+ tests and those that have successful appeals?. Just wondering

Grammar Schools, unlike non-selective schools, are permitted to leave places unfilled if there are not enough "suitable " applicants, that is ones who have passed the tests or got through on appeal. Non selective schools must allocate a place if they are below their PAN except in very special circumstances.

Yes places are left unfilled - in Buckinghamshire these are filled by 12+ and 13+ successes.
