Keep plugging away. They do try to discourage you from appealing at every turn. The letter we received from King's grammar school, that came with our appeal date, stated that 151 pupils had passed the 11 plus, 140 places had been offered and accepted. This read as though they would be oversubscribed and did discourage us temporarily. On the day we were told by the head of lower school that they were undersubscribed.

All the best

Hi, I have had a successful appeal which has its own thread in this forum. The school was oversubscribed and also held a group meeting for all appelants before hearing individual appeals.

had the parents meeting with the panel ,school and lea rep monday evening.panel found for the school. we were in early tuesday but are biting nails until friday because there are 21 appellants. just hope because we were so early in the proceedings they dont' forget us ! obviously those going today will be fresher in the minds of the panel.
interestingly, on monday, the panel ,whilst finding that the school had proved its case of predjudice, did state that they would offer places to deserving cases. i dont think they were overly impressed by the schools argument that the pan of 140 was a watertight argument . many parents commented as did the panel that a pan of 150 would not be detrimental to a highly successful gs.we wait withbaited breath and everything crossed. this is the most stressful couple of days i can ever remember in recent years.its purgatory.

Try and keep postive John, only a few hours to go. Do you have a reasonable alternative school if all else fails?
