Nonsuch Appeal

I am hoping to appeal for a place at Nonsuch for my daughter for 2013 year7.
She passed WHSG with 350/ Nonsuch 327 and TGS 40.39. We are OOC for both nonsuch and wally.
Just 0.21km away from Nonsuch. in catchment cut off mark is 298. She scored 29 marks more than that.
My daughter is doing really well in her primary school. She already in her level 5 and is doing level 6 SATS in may.
She is in the G & T register for Math and Art.
The school council offered was my last preference and dont have a good ofsted report. So I am desperate to get her a place at Nonsuch.
After a good advice from a mum here...
I got a very strong letter form the head teacher highly recommending her for Nonsuch. Got her past school reports with top marks, daily school books as evidence of her neat and tidy work with positive teacher's remarks ( she has the most beautiful handwriting!!)
I will mention that she was born in july ( very young for her year group)

If i appeal for nonsuch do you think i may have a chance? ( as the distance is so near to catchemnt? )

Please help me......advice me with your experience and knowledge!

You can appeal on the basis that your daughter is of selective ability and that the exam has not shown her true aptitude in certain areas. This can be backed up with evidence from school and other sources. The evidence would need to be very strong. Neat handwriting would not help your case as much as (for example) Year 5 and Year 6 exercise books marked by a teacher showing graded level 5 work. You need evidence that she has been working at an exceptionally high level especially in any areas that let her down in the exam.

You cannot appeal on the basis of catchment area. You fall outside catchment and there is no grey area about that. It is not possible to argue that if she lived in catchment, she would have been awarded a place because the fact is she doesn't. Her score will however add to your argument that she is of selective ability.
Traditionally very few Nonsuch and Wallington appeals are upheld - all you can do is present as much evidence as possible to demonstrate your daughter is of the correct ability for the school and to explain why a place at Nonsuch would meet her academic and other needs (perhaps the school has clubs and societies that match her hobbies or career plans). Do not criticise the school you have been offered – the intention is just to show that your daughter is suited to Nonsuch not to show that she is ill suited to the other school.

Nonsuch scores are standardised for age, so the fact that she is a July birthday has already been accounted for. Very few appeals are upheld in Sutton overall compared to other areas (less than one in ten, I think), with Nonsuch being no exception, London_Mum is right. Not trying to be negative, just realistic. Nothing to lose by giving it a go, obviously, but I think you need to focus too on finding something positive about the school she's been given - or is there another non-Grammar you could appeal for that you might have more chance of being awarded, considering that the criteria you describe for the Grammar appeal apply to many many girls who failed to gain a place ie. G&T, working at level 5/6. If you live that near Nonsuch, there are many good comprehensives in Sutton so it's unfortunate you've been given a bad one.

Nonsuch is a science specialist school. So if she's for example predicated high 5's in Science you can say that the school will help her reach her potential in the subject as she may want to become a scientist.

Reasons for wanting the school always help your case.

If there is a flicker of hope, I would appeal. Good luck
