Selection Review - Bucks
Just wanted some advice please.
My DD scored 116 so did not hit the golden 121 for a grammar school place.
I just wondered if anyone else had successfully got a place after Review/Appeal with this score?
Also, as we live in Beds, so therefore out of catchment, do we still get a report from our headteacher to support our Review?
My DD is bright - had straight level 3s in KS1 and is predicted level 5s and taking level 6 for SATS in May.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It would be worth reading the Q&As as you will find answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet!gilters wrote:Just wanted some advice please.

Have you not had a copy of the Bucks Guide "MOVING UP TO SECONDARY SCHOOL"?Also, as we live in Beds, so therefore out of catchment, do we still get a report from our headteacher to support our Review?
- If your child goes to a
Buckinghamshire LA primary or
Partner school, you should ask their
headteacher for a Selection Review
pack. This contains the forms you
need and information about the
Selection Review Process.
You have until 7 November 2014
to return the Selection Review
Request Form and your supporting
information.
If your child goes to any other
school, please ask us for a Selection
Review pack by completing the form
on our website –
http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/selection-review-info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you do not have access to the
internet, please request your
Selection Review pack by calling
01296 383250
. Do this immediately
as you will only have until
7 November 2014 to return the
form and supporting information.
Please let us know your child’s
name, date of birth, home address
and current school when you
contact us. Please also give us your
daytime telephone number.
The review pack will also contain
a Headteacher’s Selection Review
Summary Sheet which headteachers
can complete so that the Selection
Review Panel has up-to-date
information about your child’s
performance at school. It will be for
you to decide if you wish to include
the headteacher’s form with your
review paperwork.

Re: Selection Review - Bucks
Thank you. I requested the Selection Review pack online earlier, so hopefully when that turns up it will answer my questions regarding reports etc.
If anyone else can advise in the meantime, I would be grateful - I am just conscious of the short time scale we have to do all this and with a week of it being half term!

Re: Selection Review - Bucks
Not sure what else you want to know. The quote above tells you that your headteacher should fill in a report (i.e. the official selection review summary sheet).
It is open to you to provide any other academic evidence (excluding school work):

I went through this last year with my daughter she scored 112 and appealed unsucsessfully and I have had my son sit the 11 plus this year thankfully he passed but at the parents talk about the test we were told they had had sucsessful appeals from 114 and above so hope that makes you feel better
