WCHS ( Redbridge appeal)

Post by PKB »

Appeals for woodford County

I am new to this and have found the info on the forum really useful.
My DD is number 18 on waiting list.

I have submitted an appeal to woodford county.she academically ticks all the boxes against the info on the firm for high academic ability, e.g high standardised CAT scores, reading age 4 years above her age, gold in primary maths challenge

I have an extremely strong letter of support from headteacher and class teacher
Sadly my father in law died 4 weeks before the exam and that had an impact on my DD.

I need help????
Any tips, advice, guidance for appeal hearing
And anyone know if appeals are upheld at woodford county?

Thank you

Difficult to add to what is in the Q&As.

We get the occasional hint that they're already too long!

Thanks

Was the gold in the PMC in the February follow-on round or in November?

This 'gold' is a school award and not a National award so I would be cautious about mentioning it.

The link says: "63 000 pupils entered in November, with 1932 pupils who scored 19 or more being invited to take part in the Bonus Round in February 2017." So you could mention those figures ...

She should have got a mark back.

When I started the Q&As, they occupied just one side of A4.
Now look how long they are!
We may have reached saturation point with tips, advice, and guidance. :)

Good! :D

Appeals are basically the same everywhere.
Even if someone were to comment on their particular experience, it could be a completely different panel this year.
And have heard of appeals bring successful?
Best to get the actual figures.

I can't find any recent statistics, but this old data shows that, between 2007 and 2012, there was only one successful appeal for WCHS: http://data.redbridge.gov.uk/View/child ... ty-schools" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm afraid that the situation is unlikely to have changed a great deal since 2012, and Redbridge appeals have always been extremely difficult to win.

I'm sorry it isn't better news, but you should at least be prepared for the likely outcome.
