Over subcripton or non qualification

Hi, I really need some help.

My son missed out on the 11+ by 11 marks. On advice from his school we went to review and he was deemed selective.
We were not offered our choice of grammar school and are going to appeal so my question is do I appeal on the grounds of over subcripton or non qualification?

Any advice would be greatly appreicated.

If your son has been deemed selective, my first thought is that you are appealing on grounds of oversubscription. Which area are you in?

Thank you for the reply. That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure if they would still question why he didn't pass it initially?
We are in Medway.

I'm not familiar with the system in Medway, i.e. whether it's possible to be deemed selective but not score highly enough for a particular school. It might be an idea to ask again in the Medway section, as there's probably someone there who is more familiar with the review/appeal process for that area. Good luck!
