Appeal Help - Realkotti

Post by Realkotti »

Hi All,

I am appealing for my DD who passed Wallington Girls, but is currently on waiting list,
She is the youngest in the class [August born] and may have some dyslexia in her [we are getting her assessed next week] though the passed Sutton eligibility and Wallington second stage test,

The cut off was 451 and she scored 468. And we live with in catchment area, may be within 1.5 miles.

I haven't got a clue how to fill in an appeal form and on what basis to appeal, may be over subscription, and i need help what points and documents to include in my appeal pack,
The Y6 Class teacher said he would provide a very good supporting letter, but the Head Teacher is not sure yet,

Please help, i need to do this for my little angel,

Please PM me if you need to,

Thanks

Welcome! Have you read the Q&A section http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's always a good place to start, then you can post more specific questions.

OP already has a thread (Wallington Girls Appeals) running. Perhaps the three threads could be merged so OP doesn't miss any advice.

I have removed a duplicate and renamed this one so any advice for OP can be in one place.

looking at the policy it seems that while living in the catchment is important the key to getting a place is having a score high enough to reach the cut off, this tends to mean that there are a lot who reach the minimum qualification but then still so not get a place offered.

To appeal it is an oversubscription appeal where you will have to explain why it is the right school for your daughter and also that the score may not have reflected her ability - hence you will need academic evidence, reports from the head etc.

I am sure others will be able to give you help on the subject of your daughters appeal particularly once you have the assessment for dyslexia.

On a side issue I am curious about your username which appears to me half English and half Punjabi. The first half speaks for itself. The second half in Punjabi and Hindi could be a dwelling but I think in a joking and self deprecating way you are using the word for a female donkey.Like when something is done wrong by a female the word Kotti is used to deprecate and Kota if male.I must admit I had a smile when I saw the name.

I know today is April the first when you begun your threads now merged. :)

Thank you for your pm Realkotti and letting me know your user name means "real tiger" a meaning derived from Sri Lanka.

I hope you are successful with a place from the waiting list or on Appeal.
