Confused by Waiting List Numbers
Gearing up for an appeal next week for AGSB and they have published the waiting list numbers. The scores of candidates on the list are all between 334/334R and 340. Am I correct in assuming they are all candidates in catchment? If so, why would they not have been awarded a place on 1st March? Also, if appeal successful (and we are in catchment) how are the places allocated? Are they ranked by score or proximity to school? I've tried to understand the admissions policy but no joy.
Re: Confused by Waiting List Numbers
If your appeal is successful, you are awarded a place at the school, irrespective of where you are on the waiting list, whether you are in catchment or not and who is or is not above you on the waiting list. The panel should not take into account any waiting list for schools (nor should they have knowledge of it) when they deliberate after all the appeals have been heard.
