Kent Non Qualification and Testimonials from Head Teacher

Post by JIT »

Hi All
We unqualified by 1 mark less in English in the Kent test. Our elder DG is already in the WGSG. We are going to appeal.
Can someone please tell us the testimonials from the Head Teacher that will strengthen our case.
https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appe ... urn false;

The link above tells us all the documents we need and what i gathered from it is as follows, can someone tell us what is missing.
  • The comments with supporting documents from the Head Teacher stating Well Above Average Prediction with the documentation supporting it.
Regular Class work with complimentary remarks from the Teacher.

School Report supporting the Above Average Predictions

Higher Grade in Music (intellectual activities), our DG is in the top category of Piano player in school

Results of any Tests in Year 6 indicating High Standard
Is there anything else we need to provide ?

The question also i have is that do we need to send all the supporting documents such as the written work of our DG along with the appeal ? Or we can take that along with the appeal and just send the comments from the Head Teacher with the Appeal ?

Anyhelp / recommendations would be very thankful

Best Regards
Etienne

You can check for yourself.
CATs or alternative reasoning scores (e.g. EP report)?
Regular Class work with complimentary remarks from the Teacher.
- but see the notes underneath the Q&As B11, and also read this thread about Kent:

Everything should be submitted in advance. The deadline for your appeal form is usually around the end of March, but there will be a separate deadline for evidence which is usually a week or two before the appeal hearing in the summer term.

If you still want to show school work - despite the caution above - then the diplomatic thing to do is take it to the hearing and ask if it would assist the panel.

ETA: Don't overlook:

When the Borough school doesn't support the Appeal ?

Post by JIT »

Hi Etienne
I have a question, it looks like in our's daughter school Head Teacher doesn't support providing any testimonials, only in extenuating circumstances.

Would a letter from Class Teacher be alright stating the same ?

Would this weaken our case ? What should we do ? I have a meeting with the Head Teacher coming Monday.

Any thoughts ? Anything else that i can ask to support our case ?

Many Thanks
Etienne

Please don't start multiple threads on appeals - we can often do a better job of helping you if all the information about your case is in one place. :)
