Do we have a case for appeal?
Hello,
Sorry i'm unsure if i posted a message earlier.
We wonder if we have a case for appeal for our distress little girl. She very much fell in love with The Weald of Kent and worked very hard over the summer.
Her overall marks is 322.She didn't finish the last 5 questions on her maths paper...her Maths score is 100.
Her raw scores are:
Maths: 9[missed the last 5 questions]
English 14
NVR 45
She's February born baby. Also she was diagnose with a heart problem as a baby and needed a heart operation. It took her several years to recover. She slept and ate very little. We feel that she is about 6 months delayed.
Do we have a case??????
Many Thanks

Welcome to Appeals!

I think it could be a valid point if KS1 results were depressed (ideally one would like to see level 3s) - but hopefully you would be in a position to argue that there has been rapid progress at KS2?
The Kent forum is the best place to post if you want advice about particular schools - but I'll re-open this thread in case you have any general questions about appeals after you've done some reading.

It rather depends what sort of academic case you can put together. Have you read all the guidance?pembury wrote:Do we have a case??????

Problem is - you might want to argue how well she's been doing at school academically (and you probably need to do this convincingly for a successful appeal!).She's February born baby. Appeal date- help please
Hello,
We have just received our appeal date....Very nervous. Quick question, shall we take some of her work books as evidence of standard of work.
Also can anyone help with some of the questions we might be asked.
Thank you

Re: Appeal date- help please
Hi, I think you can and you just let the panel know that you have them IF they want to see them. The notes I was sent from Kent actually stated not to take any school work or books as the panel are not in a position to grade them. Good luck at your appeal x
Re: Appeal date- help please
Where are you appealing for, and is it for non-qualification or over-subscription? Have you looked at the Q&A section? https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum ... 35&t=35032" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Appeal date- help please
Also have notes from Kent and from the school itself saying not to send/take books etc - we had a form in our appeal pack with information/academic evidence requested which we have passed to dd's current school to fill in.
We are appealing both oversubscription/non qualification

Why are you appealing for this particular grammar school? What are your reasons in order of priority?
What did you like about the school when you visited (in order of priority)?
