Re: SUPPORTING PAPERWORK FOR APPEAL
Dear Dorothy
I've deleted the duplicate post. Could I ask you - very gently - not to type in capital letters, please? It's harder to read, and on the internet is considered to be "shouting". See the sticky post "Appeal Section Guidelines: Please read before you post!".
Your evidence, as far as I can tell, looks encouraging.
2nd on the OoS is fine if it's an accurate list.
Top 25% is helpful provided that the school performs well.
I hope the detailed comments on curriculum areas include reference to achievement.
1:2 is fine (panels tend not to dwell on attitude).
The EP report, including the reference to "gifted", is very helpful.
Panels are not normally going to be interested in reports from the infant school. It might even make them wonder why the most recent school report is missing.
Hope this helps.
Very best of luck

Hi Dorothy
Etienne may be busy, so I will answer just in case.
The Head's OOS is 75% correct, which is really pretty good. It has little wobbles in it, but the overall pattern is fine, and your son's position on it is also good, with 1 above and 5 below having passed.
It should hold you in good stead at the Appeal, and you can ask the LEA rep whether s/he "would agree that is a reasonably accurate OoS" to reinforce the point.

Hi Dorothy
More haste, less speed!
Your Head has achieved 10/16, which is still a very good result, despite my temporary loss of mental faculty! I missed, in particular, the 117 in position 6.
63% is still better than many Heads will achieve anyway, and the panel will understand that. I think that the LEA rep will still see this as a good OoS - I have seen several this year that have not been anywhere near as good.
Did the OoS go beyond the 2:2 recommendations? That should not have a great bearing on your case, but the question is worth asking.
My apologies!
