Re: Selection Review , prove it wasn't FCO
I am wondering how panel members are chosen?I would also be concerned about the impartiality of the panel member
In my own area, I have never seen an advert for recruiting appeal panel members (either for any of the academies or the local authority that runs appeals on behalf of some of the academies). I believe that they cannot have a connection to the admission authority (or any person working for it) or the local authority - is that right?
How do they recruit and would it be acceptable to enquire at appeal as to how they were appointed /suitability to the role /experience /training /etc?
For our appeal we were just told the panel members initial and surname, e.g. C Smith, D Brown.
Thank you.

Re: Selection Review , prove it wasn't FCO
We had our appeal decision letter yesterday, it was a yes
I still can't quite believe it, my DD is really happy and somewhat nervous of the prospect of going to grammar school.
The whole appeal process is so daunting and without the support and advice from Etienne, Sally-Anne, Guest55 and everyone else who has offered encouragement, I wouldn't have known where to start yet alone have a successful outcome.
Thank you all so much, I can't stress enough how grateful I am for the help.
Thank you

Fantastic news! Which school did you get [PM if you prefer]?
You worked so hard for that place that I hope everything goes well

Well done, bucksdad8623! Wonderful news!
Cases don't come much more complicated than yours (SAP, SRP, qualification, prejudice).
Many congratulations.

You have done so well to win such a complex appeal, and I am delighted for you and your DD.
