12plus waiting list
Dear Etienne, can you please help me, my daughter recently passed the late entry exam into wycombe high grammar school and has been put onto a waiting list. We do not know which position she has on the waiting list, we have a choice to appeal for this decision. Can you please advise me if i should appeal, could that backfire? or wait until a place is given we do have a year on the waiting list. I look forward to your reply.

Our advice is always to go on the waiting list and to appeal. The two processes are separate, and you cannot be disadvantaged by pursuing both options (whereas you could be disadvantaged by pursuing only one!).
You will of course need to put forward reasons for wanting a place that are sufficient to outweigh the prejudice to the school. See:
