My dd passed the 11+ but did not score high enough for a superselective governor place. Her SATS and CATs scores were both extremely high, top 2%. Is it worth appealing?

Her SATs and CATs look very encouraging, but I'm afraid it's very difficult to say what the chances of a successful appeal would be.

The extenuating circumstances, as I think you realise, are unexceptional.

Have you considered what reasons you could give for wanting a place at this particular school?

If in doubt about what to do, the best advice is you've nothing to lose by trying - but no one should enter the appeals process expecting to win.
