My daughter has just recieved her results for the entrance exam to a local Catholic Grammar school. She achieved 317 against a pass mark of 325. Can we appeal given the proximity of the her mark to the pass mark? In addition, all entrants has to resit the VR exam as there was a problem with the VR answer sheet and this was unsettling for all. I am not clear about how to approach the appeal process?
- Do I list the school on the secondary school choices and then I get to go to appeal in March?
- can I ask for a re-mark?
- I cannot see the breakdown of her scores by paper, so i am not sure where the issue is and whether it was with the VR paper?
- What support shoudl her primary school give me?
- Is there likely to be a local review process that precedes the formal appeal process?
- what information do I need for the appeal?
- is there anythign I can do immediately?

Any responses will be gratefully received

Yes you should list the school on your CAF if you want to appeal

You should check with the school about remarks, reviews and scores. There are different systems in place.

There is a lot of information to process - here is a good place to start viewtopic.php?f=35&t=35032
