Is it worth appealing? Kefw

Hi there,

I think I may be clutching at straws a little here, but as I am new to all of this I thought I'd ask the experts.

My son got a score of 220 in the Birmingham grammars test, and only wanted kefw. He has done really well in the KES exam and offered an AP, scored 119 in Sat's mocks, and has never been tutored. Is there any point in appealing? If so on what grounds?

Thank you

For any appeal it has to be on the basis of academic ability and you would have to collect evidence about that. I would say that appeals for the Birmingham KE schools are very rarely successful.

Birmingham grammar appeals are notoriously hard to win. I know of just one on this forum due to extenuating circumstances.

We went through an unsuccessful appeal nearby and I don't regret trying.

Hopefully one of the appeals experts can offer advice.

Good luck - in the meantime are you considering HGS and BV? Not sure where you're based.

Welcome to Appeals! :)
..... on what grounds?
Only you can say, but typical grounds are discussed in the Q&As. For example:
