Doesn't his school measure Reading ages? This is not the sort of thing you can get elsewhere.

What KS2 predictions is the school giving?

Buckle up then. Appeals are exhausting and you have only just started....Read through the appeals section carefully. Etienne's information on there is very thorough so work through it systematicall. But be aware that appeals are hard and you may go through it all and still not win so you need to be clear and "big up" the school that you have been allocated - you did, after all, apply to it, so must have liked something about it at the time.

Surely the biggest difference between these schools is the Sixth Form curriculum? Have you addressed this in your appeal if this was a reason you chose the school.

Wilmington's Ofsted praises the Maths department so beware saying Dartford is better for that.

Thanks all, for lifting me up.....

Do Educational psychologist reports prove academic ability or some learning disabilities? will these help to prove his academic ability as strong evidence?
Anyonehas a good story to tell of these assessments wrt proving academic ability directly affecting the appeal result at oversubscribed schools?

Either - or both!

It depends what the report says!

Appellants are very unlikely to know which bit of evidence swayed the panel.
Most decision letters simply list all the evidence taken into account, and then give the panel's decision.
In order to arrive at a decision, in most cases the panel will have weighed up the evidence as a whole.

Made my final appeal document. Sent to appeal box. Do the reasons and evidence tie well together.
Is it a mistake to keep the reasons to 1 page only?
Is it ok to almost have same content on 2 different appeals?
How can I strengthen the medical aspect of the appeal. As a mother that is a strong valued argument - I have left my flourishing career for his safety ;)
Will I be able to considerably modify the narrative/reasons etc maybe in my speech?
few more hours, atleast some version will be out of my head.

I understand where you come from on ofsted reports, but I do feel the results speak for themselves. I do notice big difference in the two schools results. But that’s my personal choice.

Right now I want someone to help me with some ideas for academic evidences.

Ds does few academic activities out of school and was awarded for academic excellence at previous school- Equivalent to KS1. Has some serious passion which match the school we want.

Are their external agency’s to measure his reading and writing ages? Any other suggestions plz?

Dear Rsinsinwar,
Both my sons go to Dartford Grammar and what I can see is that they make them work very hard. I know they have good teachers, but just to give you an example. My eldest is in year 10, so he will be doing his GCSEs next year and his mocks in May. Therefore, the school have decided that this Easter will be a Revision Break and that as such, they should revise daily for 4 1/2 hours. Now, this is not even Easter before the actual exams. Is it any wonder that they get very good results?

Have you asked Wilmington parents about the level of work they do? Good results come at a price and it often is hard work for all around, but mainly the children.

I see that your letter of appeal, requesting a critique by this morning, came through to us at 11.40 last night.
1139 words scattered over 106 (one hundred and six) pages! :?

Please see the Q&As:

The academic evidence, and perhaps any extenuating circumstances, might be the same - but reasons for wanting a place should be very specific to the school being applied for.

You are certainly free to add to your case (for example, by sending in additional evidence a week or two before the hearing), but there probably ought to be some sort of an explanation if you are suddenly introducing a significant new reason which wasn't significant enough to merit a mention in your original submission. (It is, of course, quite possible for circumstances to change between March and the hearing date.)
