Mindthegap appeal

Post by Mindthegap »

Please? This is for Ribston. We need to submit paperwork. Is the fact that she didn't have a tutor and did very little revision grounds for an appeal as this demonstrates that she potentially could have done a lot better in the test. We have full support of teacher and head they would even come to an appeal with us. She is currently one of the top achievers in her class.
Thank you I had high hopes after reconsideration process but she is now even further down the waiting list than she was 1st March. I do not understand why a second test is held halfway through March! January would have made more sense!

Start here:

Academic evidence is key - the more the better. If you have any specific questions having read the link above then start a thread called Mindthegap appeal and stick to that one thread.

I have moved your post to "Appeals" renamed it slightly for clarity.

Welcome! :)

How would you prove a negative?

If you follow the links suggested above, you will come to:

    • d) “My child hasn’t been coached” rarely makes much of an impact, unless tutoring is specifically recommended by the admission authority, and you have only just moved into the area.

Oh no. So is that not a good enough reason? Our reasoning was how much she has come on academically since September. What can you say to that would be sufficient academic grounds? She is an incredibly high achiever who never planned to do the 11 plus until her headteacher suggested she do it. Wasmt even on our radar until then.

Do you have evidence to show this progress?

No but I guess i could ask her teacher to provide evidence? Is a written report from her teacher sufficient? Sats results will be too late I'm guessing.
