Worth appealing??
I would like to appeal for my son but I am not sure if his scores will be high enough - 124 VR 119 NVR and 113 Maths - Leaves a shortfall of 4 marks from the pass mark (although only one is technically below ie. 113)
Should we appeal on these grounds - His HT already did one and his written paper was described as being 'immature'! (He was 10 at end of July!)
I'd be really grateful for some opinions on this as he had his heart set on TWBGS.[/url]

I've not gone down the appeal route but if I were you and you think that a grammar school is right for your son, then I would go for it. What do you have to lose? Even if the appeal is not successful then at least you will have tried. My children are at a big primary school in TW and every year I hear of one or two children getting a place at a grammar despite having not passed initially. I really do think that the early 11+ has counted against lots of boys this year as generally they do mature later than girls. Good luck!
