Sending PMs

Sorry to ask here but can someone please tell me why some of PMs go into the sentbox and some go into the outbox. Also, have things in the outbox actually been sent? Arrrgh! I can't cope with machines.

When you send a message, it first goes into your outbox, waiting for the recipient to logon and pick up the message.

When the recipient has picked up your message, it moves from your outbox to your sentbox.
