Urmston grammer appeal

DS missed the pass mark by 1 mark from the 355 pass mark, as he was borderline and he was within the 354-335 range for further consideration , his creative writing task was taken into account ( but this is not taken into consideration for the complete exam) and he was not selected. His best score on the exam was the English paper . Do you think we have good ground to appeal as I do not believe his creative writing is that bad.

Any advice on writing the appeal letter, I am considering hiring a special school appeals consultant to draft the letter or do you think it is not a good idea. Any advice to a concerned parent would be much appreciated.
