questions during appeal

Hi, are the appeal panel allowed to ask what other schools your child has sat 11 plus exams for and what score they attained in those exams.

I don't think any of the panels I sat on would have done so - because it would not be possible to compare tests that might have a different format and have certainly been standardised differently.

umm, I thought they weren;t allowed to ask but one of the panel members did and then make a quick comment on whether that particular school would accept him with that score which I didn;t think they were allowed to do.

I don't think a panel member should be assessing your chances of a place at another school.

Could be another point for the ombudsman .....
