Which for foramat;which discs and what age?

Could you help and tell me which format do you think is best ie buying the CD's or downloading?
My DD is in year 4 and her older sister has just got into the grammar school of her choice but second DD is VERY different!
But still manges to blow my mind when doing NVR questions.
Part of me thinks not to bother - cause it is a lot of bother cause she doesn't like "book work" BUT dont want her coming back in 10 years saying you didnt give me the same chances!!!
She seem keener to do the work and enjoyed the "taster" sessions on the computer - What do you suggest?
