CJN, you apply through Warwickshire council and when the places are offered it is through them as well.CJN wrote:Thank you for your reply.
Do I also need to apply directly to grammar school or do we wait for the offer from the school?

you can apply anywhere BUT you must read the admissions policy / allocation data and see whether you have any chanceclearzero wrote:Could we apply for further distance grammar school?
there are basically 2 types of GS
1) pass the exam and get offered on distance - clearly if you are a long way away then there is not much chance as often the catchment is only a few miles
2) pass the exam and places are offered based on score - depends how high your score is for this - however, please don't consider any ghastly long journeys, no school is worth that.
Where are you looking at ?

Applications are made through the applicant's home LA, regardless of the LA in which the school is located; so Coventry residents apply through Coventry City Council, so the advice re how to complete the CAF etc in that LA needs to be followed in conjunction with Warwickshire CC's information re the grammar school application process and each individual school's admissions policy.
The information on the websites will be updated each year for the upcoming admissions round.
