The problem is (as far as I can gather), that it would not be fair to have some children knowing their school before the national offers day in March. The tests have to be this early so that provision can be made for candidates who miss the exam through illness, etc and to enable the boarderzone/head teacher review process to take place. At lot goes on behind the scenes.
I agree that the wait is horrible for those involved, but the system needs to have this wait to ensure everything is as fair as possible.
I've done the wait twice and do feel for you. The best thing to do is forget all about it & get on with other things. I never did though!
