Checkland, a more useful guide is the ranking your son got out of the boys in the south grammar school priority area (assuming you are priority for this area). That way you can work back from there.

213 will be around about 399 south judging from the collated scores. Last year Alcester offered down to 411th South (632nd all Children) on March 1st, requiring a score approximately equivalent to 210 on this year's scoring system.

So a standardised score of 213 and an all children rank of 596 looks positive on those measures.
