Anyone outside priority circle for LSS?

Hi Folks,

My DS is very keen to go to LSS, but we fall outside priority circle for this.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Looks like there are 71 boys who took the Warks exam outside the east+south grammar circle.
Total boys= 986
East+south grammar circle= 379+536 = 915
Leaving 71 boys outside the priority circle.

Any info will be helpful.
Thanks,
C

It might actually be slightly more - as there could be a few who are counted twice if they live in the small area where the South and East areas overlap (including Southam, and the villages to the East of Leamington and Kenilworth - Bubbenhall, Ryton, etc) which is in both South and the outer Eastern circle.. But not all of those taking it from out of area are necessarily looking for places - you might find for example that some from not-too-far distant Buckinghamshire took it as a preparation exercise for their own 11+ (which was a CEM exam for the first time this year).

We don't have this years figures for the overlap area yet - but for the 2012 exam it was 11 girls and 23 boys, which gives you an idea. If it's similar this year, then the out of area people for LSS could be as many as 94, but some of those overlap people may be choosing KES instead.

Is outer area outside the outer circle? Are their ranks and scores included in the list too? Thanks

"out of area" is beyond the 10 mile outer priority circle. They'd be included in the all boys/all girls/all children rankings, but not in the east/east boys/east girls ones.
